When Prohibition outlawed the manufacture and sale of alcoholic beverages in 1920, many enterprising residents of a small town in Iowa chose to become outlaws – producing a high-caliber and much sought-after whiskey known as TEMPLETON RYE, or “THE GOOD STUFF” to those in the know.
Over the course of its storied history, Templeton Rye became Al Capone’s whiskey of choice, quickly finding its way to the center of his bootlegging empire. Legend suggests that a few bottles even found their way inside the walls of Alcatraz to the cell of prisoner AZ-85. Templeton Rye is based on the original Prohibition era Kerkhoff recipe.

Our flagship mark is aged 4 years in charred new oak barrels creating a great rye character and wonderfully smooth finish that is ideal for mixing in whiskey cocktails or enjoying neat.
NOSE: Dry, grassy, and natural spice
PALATE: Hint of caramel, butterscotch, toffee and allspice, lingering, slightly chewy

2 parts Templeton Rye
1 tsp. Demerara syrup*
2 dashes Aromatic bitters
Fill a mixing glass with ice, add two hard dashes of aromatic bitters, spoonful of Demerara syrup, and Templeton Rye whiskey. Stir ingredients until chilled and diluted. Strain into an old fashioned glass with fresh ice. Garnish with expressed orange peel & cherry.
*Demerara syrup = equal parts hot water & sugar in the raw

3/4 part Antica Formula
2 dashes Aromatic Bitters
Fill a mixing glass with ice, add two hard dashes of aromatic bitters, add vermouth, Templeton Rye whiskey. Stir until well chilled. Strain serve up in a coupe or martini glass. Garnish with a real maraschino cherry.

The Good Stuff gets even better with age! With a higher proof and longer time in the barrel, Templeton Rye 6 Year has more complex rye notes for the true enthusiast.
NOSE: Butterscotch, vanilla, spice, cherry, green apple
PALATE: Fruit, toasted oak, mellow, smooth with vibrant mouth, bold oak with burnt sugar sweetness
FINISH: Long lingering spice
1 ½ oz. Templeton Rye Aged 6 Years
1 oz. Antica Formula Sweet Vermouth
¾ oz. Campari
Orange peel, oils expressed
Add all the ingredients (except orange peel) in a mixing glass and fill with ice. Stir and strain into a cocktail glass filled with ice. Garnish with an orange peel.
1.5 oz. Templeton Rye Aged 6 Years
4 oz. Ginger Beer
Fill glass with ice, add delicious whiskey, top with ginger beer, squeeze lime.
Celebrating 10 years of The Good Stuff! Back in October 2006, Templeton Rye was first available legally on shelves in the state of Iowa. We then set aside 34 barrels for aging and have now released our Templeton Rye Special Reserve - Barrel Aged 10 Years.
NOSE: Caramel, vanilla, baking spices, green apple
PALATE: Rye spice, toasted oak, white pepper, caramel, vanilla
FINISH: Huge rye spice, cinnamon, vanilla, long finish
Templeton Rye Special Reserve Barrel Aged 10 years is best recommended to be enjoyed neat or on the rocks to savor the full aged whiskey flavor.
